I chose Young Man, because I am young and a man. I also think it is good to let any ladies know that I am a "Young Man" (just in case they're interested...)

Pink is also my screename, which I like because it doesn't have any numbers in it. Sounds good too!

I like astronomy and space stuff. The theme runs through my email address and numerous other things. Plus, I remember a saying that "When it gets darkest, the stars come out." As my family struggles through this pectus thing, I thought a ray of optimism was in order.
We were growing to accept my son's condition, with a regressed Ravitch and a huge scar. Suddenly, after emailing Dr. Schaar, there is at least a hope that we won't have to just accept it.
And we have this forum to thank for this.

The following exerpt is taken from classictelevisionblog.com

"Any true fan of Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" will remember A.J., the miniature putt putt parakeet. Owner David Cota is still training and showing A.J. through the media of today.

While the golden age of television has passed, Cota is monopolizing on the bubble media of today, YouTube and Myspace. CNN reports on A.J.'s latest accomplishments and what you can expect next."

Actually, my surname is "Foyt", ring any bells? No?

Okay then here:

You can listen to A.J. here:

Here's a page about my estranged common-law wife. You might know her from such films as The Virgin Suicides, True Calling, and elsewhere.

Hmm, well, hmmm...well, I think we all know that a "lei" is a:

necklace, made of flowers, that female natives (wearing nothing but grass skirts, and the half-shells of coconuts, on their boobs) put around your neck, as you exit a plane, after landing in Hawaii ( now a U.S. state, though non- U.S. continental, which reminds one of Alaska, also non-continental U.S., and yet the largest state in the U.S. , which is, incidentally and obviously, the reason that Texans don't like Hawaii brought up in conversation . )

So, your forum name refers to a "lehu"-type one of those...

Then, "lehu" is a type of flower ( perhaps native to the island ) used to make them.

Arthur Dent was a character in Douglas Adams' classic book 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy...

I read the book years ago (as a kid really - don't read much these days, more's the pity) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wanted an anonymous name for the forum, and the 'Dent' seemed apt, so here I am, Arthur Dent. Pleased to be meeting you.

Incidentally, could 'runs' PLEASE explain his name!!! I've got a rather nasty image that needs dispelling... :D

I had never heard of AJ the bird. I did a google search & learned about him.

I am saddened to learn Alex the african gray parrot died Friday at the age of 31. The average lifespan of a gray is 50. The necropsy did not find the cause of death. Alex could identify shapes, colors, count, and interact with people. He had an amazing vocabulary.

Those of us who have parrots understand how a parrot becomes a part of the family and understands what is going on around them. They can say the appropriate thing at just the right time.

I am a pretty crazy fella and always am a ham. I used to do this action called the "monkey boy". Basically looked and acted like a monkey in front of hundreds of people. Some of my friends call me monkey boy from time to time but I wanted my name it so there ya go.

I don't have a bad picture of runs. I laugh every time he sings "runs". I think of someone saying something and then running away when they are done. Very funny image :D

Now I am thinking about changing my name to '[Censored] Dent'.

Refer to the movie, "Sid And Nancy" :

there's a scene where Sid Vicious ( a bass player musician ) is kicking some guy, and someone says " Who's that ?"

And then someone else says,
"That's [Censored] Dent" ,

"Who's [Censored] Dent ? "

"Some wank juh-nalist what don't loike the Fex Piftols [ the Sex Pistols, one of the first punk rock bands, for whom Sid played bass ] "

It's classic. There's some good one-liners in that movie.

[ strange...a program that does selective censorship ? I say asterisks all around, or leave it all...must be the quotes ]

I'm still rather impressed by PlentyE for slipping the word 'mother[Censored]er' through...

EDIT : Hey, it worked for me too! :D

What I do wonder is who is in the picture on runs' avatar...is that Amelia Earhart ?

Hey Arthur, what happened to our last two posts ( i.e. one each from us ) ?

And why are they gone, instead of the ones we've more recently posted :puzz:

Hey, yeah AJ, good point! Didn't notice that. Errr, advertising maybe? Surely my last post should be the one to go if any... I was half expecting my first official warning for that one. So, come on anonymous censor, DO YOUR THING!

I had a product endorsement with Dogtown skateboards back in the 80's (when they were trying there come back) in which they supplied me with "Bornagain" models...they also had a "Stonefish" model, I have been using Stonefish in many forums for a long time. Bornagain sounded too religious....something I'm not.

No Way, Dogtown Skates are awesome!

I always wanted an Eric Dressen pro model.

I did have a Scott Oster ( and it was awesome ), with Indy 169's and Schmitt Stix Radials ( the wheels with the urethane "tires" and aluminum cores )...it got stolen at a party in Clifton's ( UC ) University village...dang I miss that board.

I want to see the Dogtown movie ( you know the real documentary. I already saw "Lords of Dogtown"; it was okay; they changed some stuff ).

Hey Stonefish ( I remember that board name )...are you saying that you were sponsored by Dogtown ( that would be awesome )?

Or like Black Sabbath, you know 'cause they have an album called that.

I suppose the non-spiritual take could be exiting 'the' womb, i.e. beyond a first time...sounds like a guy thing.

I was a team rider for Dogtown for about 6 months before being dropped, due "not attending enough contests". I did manage to score quite a bit of DTS items in that time period. I was later picked up by G&S. Getting sponsored in the mid 80's was easy when you worked at a skateboard shop and could ride! Skating went backseat when I started playing bands.

The documentary & book (which I was give an autographed copy of from my friend who is Mike Vallely's right hand man) are must see and reads!!

Also check out the book Disposable, by Sean Cliver...a true must for any old time skater. There will be 24 skateboards from my collection in his next book. http://www.disposablethebook.com/

feel free to email me...I can send pixs of my skates. RMann@Hersheys.com
