My first ever Vlog. It took me all day to make this. I'm usually behind the camera not in front of it. This is also the first time I've ever truly gone public with my PE, so I'm a bit nervous about that too. This video is publicly viewable on youtube, and it's also going on my google+ and facebook pages. Eep!

I can't say I'm really happy with the way it came out, but hey we all have to start somewhere. I think I downplayed my symptoms a bit. Pain is too strong a word but discomfort seems to weak. Oh well. It can only get easier from here, right?

Socal,

Great video! Welcome and thanks so much for taking the time to put it together. Others will greatly benefit from it I'm sure. You are with a great surgeon and team so I'm guessing you will get an excellent repair. Before you know it the only thing that will bother you about your chest is a little redness because you didn't put on enough sun block at the beach. Best of luck to you.

Mario,
My favorite Beatles look-alike......your video amazed me! Great job and thanks for sharing your story with all of us. We will continue to follow you on your journey of becoming "dent-free" and look forward to you coming back through your recovery with better lung capacity, better stamina and no more compression of your heart....or giant bear hug as you call it! Good luck and see you soon....:nw::nw::D
Gentle Hug,
Jackie

Thank you all so much for the support! It means the world to me! Jackie you are awesome! Both you and dr LoSasso are incredibly tuned into and connected to your patients as people. I haven't even had the surgery yet, and I'm already short on words to describe just how much it means to me. You are real life heroes. I can't wait till the 26th!

I hope to make another video blog tomorrow.. Stay tuned!

Ok. Another vlog is up! I still haven't worked up the guts to put it on facebook, but it is publicly available on youtube and I have posted it on Google+.

In this one I mention a few of the tests I had to do as well as my futile attempt at gaining weight.

Oops I had the wrong link there for a sec.

Thank you Jackie for being so supportive and such a positive influence on us all.

Thank you ladynuss as well. I am so blessed to have such wonderful people, strangers even, wishing me the best.

To all, whether or not you have posted, I wish you the best as well. Life is so great.

I can't tell you how positive it has been going public with this. I have had nothing but positive thoughts and feedback sent my way, and it has meant the world to me. More vlogs coming, just need to find the time..

Back with another vlog! This one gave me problems. I tried many times on Sunday evening but I was having brain cramps. Then I try uploading this video last night and it failed. Finally got it up.

Less than two fun filled weeks left until surgery!

Tomorrow is the big day! The nerves/anxiety hasn't really kicked in yet. I do have some Lorazepam to take before bed to help with any anxiety though. We'll see if I need it. I figure I'll take one anyway just to be sure I can sleep well.

Anyways, no video blog this time. I tried but couldn't really keep it together. The outpouring of support since I've gone "public" with my PE has been absolutely amazing. I can't make a vlog about it without getting too emotional.

Ok.. See you all on the other side! :)

That Lorazepam did good work... almost too good.. I nearly overslept! Playing some catchup now... Here's a video I made while knocked up on Lorazepam just before bed..

Hi Mario,
You are in surgery right now and as soon as you wake up your dent is GONE!! We are looking forward to hearing all about your journey and your adventures to come. I hope you also remembered to pack your ipod, because that is helpful at times to "zone out" at the hospital with your favorite tunes!
See you soon.....:nw::nw:

SoCal,
You're such a chill guy seems like you be a blast to hang out with. I'm glad you made it through and like Thor said your chest looks great. That was one hell of a bruise you had. I've seen all sorts of bruises in different spots from the nuss but that's certainly a first. They're almost always benign though.

Thanks for putting in the time to make the videos, they're fun to watch for those of us that have had the surgery and very helpful for those that haven't.

Hope you continue to have an uneventful recovery. The keys to a sucessful recovery are to avoid sugars, wash your hands, deep breathe, walk walk walk and eat well. And watch football on the weekends. Not sure why that helps but it does.

Look forward to following your progress.
